Great Inventions

Everyone who has a great invention, please, feel free to add to my list!

Tennis rackets make great skimmers in small ponds for that pesky string algae and for leaves in the fall.

Take a four to six foot peice of sprinkler pipe and attach a fitting to it that lets you attach it to your garden hose. This contraption can be used as a 'blower' to move debris toward your filter where it can be removed from your pond. Great for cleaning around lilies, blowing debris off plants and around rocks where it's hard to skim.

Take any long peice of wood, like an old broom handle or a peice of 1x2 lumber, and drive a thin nail into the end. Leave enough sticking out to bend it into a hook shape. If you get the right shape, this tool can be used to remove those dying lily leaves that are hard to reach. Especially useful when the water gets cold! It takes a bit of practice and a properly bent nail, but this is a great back saver.
