Fixing a LeakThis is a featured page

Do we all know what to do if our ponds leak?

The first thing is finding it. If your pond only leaks when you're running a stream or water feature, then the problem is not a leak, but an overflow of some sort.check for overflows and splashing first Carefully examine the edges and find out where the water is going over. It helps to shut the stream off and let it dry out for a day or two, then turn it on and look for wet areas around the stream that should be dry.

If you turn your water current off, and it still leaks, then the leak will be somewhere around the water line. In other words, it will only leak down to the rip, then stop. It may and probably will be under a sharp rock or something. Drain the pond 4 to 6 inches further, clean the punctured area very thoroughly, (just elbow grease, no toxic cleaners!) and patch.
